1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח מַשְׂכִּיל׃
1 For the Leader; [a Psalm] of the sons of Korah. Maschil.
2 אֱלֹהִים בְּאָזְנֵינוּ שָׁמַעְנוּ אֲבוֹתֵינוּ סִפְּרוּ־לָנוּ פֹּעַל פָּעַלְתָּ בִימֵיהֶם בִּימֵי קֶדֶם׃
2 O God, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us; a work Thou didst in their days, in the days of old.
3 אַתָּה יָדְךָ גּוֹיִם הוֹרַשְׁתָּ וַתִּטָּעֵם תָּרַע לְאֻמִּים וַתְּשַׁלְּחֵם׃
3 Thou with Thy hand didst drive out the nations, and didst plant them in; Thou didst break the peoples, and didst spread them abroad.
4 כִּי לֹא בְחַרְבָּם יָרְשׁוּ אָרֶץ וּזְרוֹעָם לֹא־הוֹשִׁיעָה לָּמוֹ כִּי־יְמִינְךָ וּזְרוֹעֲךָ וְאוֹר פָּנֶיךָ כִּי רְצִיתָם׃
4 For not by their own sword did they get the land in possession, Neither did their own arm save them; but Thy right hand, and Thine arm, and the light of Thy countenance, because Thou wast favourable unto them.
5 אַתָּה־הוּא מַלְכִּי אֱלֹהִים צַוֵּה יְשׁוּעוֹת יַעֲקֹב׃
5 Thou art my King, O God; command the salvation of Jacob.
6 בְּךָ צָרֵינוּ נְנַגֵּחַ בְּשִׁמְךָ נָבוּס קָמֵינוּ׃
6 Through Thee do we push down our adversaries; through Thy name do we tread them under that rise up against us.
7 כִּי לֹא בְקַשְׁתִּי אֶבְטָח וְחַרְבִּי לֹא תוֹשִׁיעֵנִי׃
7 For I trust not in my bow, neither can my sword save me.
8 כִּי הוֹשַׁעְתָּנוּ מִצָּרֵינוּ וּמְשַׂנְאֵינוּ הֱבִישׁוֹתָ׃
8 But Thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.
9 בֵּאלֹהִים הִלַּלְנוּ כָל־הַיּוֹם וְשִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָם נוֹדֶה סֶלָה׃
9 In God have we gloried all the day, and we will give thanks unto Thy name for ever. Selah
10 אַף־זָנַחְתָּ וַתַּכְלִימֵנוּ וְלֹא־תֵצֵא בְּצִבְאוֹתֵינוּ׃
10 Yet Thou hast cast off, and brought us to confusion; and goest not forth with our hosts.
11 תְּשִׁיבֵנוּ אָחוֹר מִנִּי־צָר וּמְשַׂנְאֵינוּ שָׁסוּ לָמוֹ׃
11 Thou makest us to turn back from the adversary; and they that hate us spoil at their will.
12 תִּתְּנֵנוּ כְּצֹאן מַאֲכָל וּבַגּוֹיִם זֵרִיתָנוּ׃
12 Thou hast given us like sheep to be eaten; and hast scattered us among the nations.
13 תִּמְכֹּר־עַמְּךָ בְלֹא־הוֹן וְלֹא־רִבִּיתָ בִּמְחִירֵיהֶם׃
13 Thou sellest Thy people for small gain, and hast not set their prices high.
14 תְּשִׂימֵנוּ חֶרְפָּה לִשְׁכֵנֵינוּ לַעַג וָקֶלֶס לִסְבִיבוֹתֵינוּ׃
14 Thou makest us a taunt to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
15 תְּשִׂימֵנוּ מָשָׁל בַּגּוֹיִם מְנוֹד־רֹאשׁ בַּל־אֻמִּים׃
15 Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
16 כָּל־הַיּוֹם כְּלִמָּתִי נֶגְדִּי וּבֹשֶׁת פָּנַי כִּסָּתְנִי׃
16 All the day is my confusion before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
17 מִקּוֹל מְחָרֵף וּמְגַדֵּף מִפְּנֵי אוֹיֵב וּמִתְנַקֵּם׃
17 For the voice of him that taunteth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the revengeful.
18 כָּל־זֹאת בָּאַתְנוּ וְלֹא שְׁכַחֲנוּךָ וְלֹא־שִׁקַּרְנוּ בִּבְרִיתֶךָ׃
18 All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten Thee, neither have we been false to Thy covenant.
19 לֹא־נָסוֹג אָחוֹר לִבֵּנוּ וַתֵּט אֲשֻׁרֵינוּ מִנִּי אָרְחֶךָ׃
19 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from Thy path;
20 כִּי דִכִּיתָנוּ בִּמְקוֹם תַּנִּים וַתְּכַס עָלֵינוּ בְצַלְמָוֶת׃
20 Though Thou hast crushed us into a place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
21 אִם־שָׁכַחְנוּ שֵׁם אֱלֹהֵינוּ וַנִּפְרֹשׂ כַּפֵּינוּ לְאֵל זָר׃
21 If we had forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god; .
22 הֲלֹא אֱלֹהִים יַחֲקָר־זֹאת כִּי־הוּא יֹדֵעַ תַּעֲלֻמוֹת לֵב׃
22 Would not God search this out? For He knoweth the secrets of the heart.
23 כִּי־עָלֶיךָ הֹרַגְנוּ כָל־הַיּוֹם נֶחְשַׁבְנוּ כְּצֹאן טִבְחָה׃
23 Nay, but for Thy sake are we killed all the day; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
24 עוּרָה לָמָּה תִישַׁן אֲדֹנָי הָקִיצָה אַל־תִּזְנַח לָנֶצַח׃
24 Awake, why sleepest Thou, O Lord? Arouse Thyself, cast not off for ever.
25 לָמָּה־פָנֶיךָ תַסְתִּיר תִּשְׁכַּח עָנְיֵנוּ וְלַחֲצֵנוּ׃
25 Wherefore hidest Thou Thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
26 כִּי שָׁחָה לֶעָפָר נַפְשֵׁנוּ דָּבְקָה לָאָרֶץ בִּטְנֵנוּ׃
26 For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
27 קוּמָה עֶזְרָתָה לָּנוּ וּפְדֵנוּ לְמַעַן חַסְדֶּךָ׃
27 Arise for our help, and redeem us for Thy mercy's sake.
Psalm 45 · תְּהִלִּים 45Open / close
1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל־שֹׁשַׁנִּים לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח מַשְׂכִּיל שִׁיר יְדִידֹת׃
1 For the Leader; upon Shoshannim; [a Psalm] of the sons of Korah. Maschil. A Song of loves.
2 רָחַשׁ לִבִּי דָּבָר טוֹב אֹמֵר אָנִי מַעֲשַׂי לְמֶלֶךְ לְשׁוֹנִי עֵט סוֹפֵר מָהִיר׃
2 My heart overfloweth with a goodly matter; I say: 'My work is concerning a king'; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
3 יָפְיָפִיתָ מִבְּנֵי אָדָם הוּצַק חֵן בְּשְׂפְתוֹתֶיךָ עַל־כֵּן בֵּרַכְךָ אֱלֹהִים לְעוֹלָם׃
3 Thou art fairer than the children of men; Grace is poured upon thy lips; Therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
4 חֲגוֹר־חַרְבְּךָ עַל־יָרֵךְ גִּבּוֹר הוֹדְךָ וַהֲדָרֶךָ׃
4 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, Thy glory and thy majesty.
5 וַהֲדָרְךָ צְלַח רְכַב עַל־דְּבַר־אֱמֶת וְעַנְוָה־צֶדֶק וְתוֹרְךָ נוֹרָאוֹת יְמִינֶךָ׃
5 And in thy majesty prosper, ride on, In behalf of truth and meekness and righteousness; And let thy right hand teach thee tremendous things.
6 חִצֶּיךָ שְׁנוּנִים עַמִּים תַּחְתֶּיךָ יִפְּלוּ בְּלֵב אוֹיְבֵי הַמֶּלֶךְ׃
6 Thine arrows are sharp— The peoples fall under thee— [They sink] into the heart of the king's enemies.
7 כִּסְאֲךָ אֱלֹהִים עוֹלָם וָעֶד שֵׁבֶט מִישֹׁר שֵׁבֶט מַלְכוּתֶךָ׃
7 Thy throne given of God is for ever and ever; A sceptre of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
8 אָהַבְתָּ צֶּדֶק וַתִּשְׂנָא רֶשַׁע עַל־כֵּן מְשָׁחֲךָ אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֶיךָ שֶׁמֶן שָׂשׂוֹן מֵחֲבֵרֶיךָ׃
8 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
9 מֹר־וַאֲהָלוֹת קְצִיעוֹת כָּל־בִּגְדֹתֶיךָ מִן־הֵיכְלֵי שֵׁן מִנִּי שִׂמְּחוּךָ׃
9 Myrrh, and aloes, and cassia are all thy garments; Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made thee glad.
10 בְּנוֹת מְלָכִים בְּיִקְּרוֹתֶיךָ נִצְּבָה שֵׁגַל לִימִינְךָ בְּכֶתֶם אוֹפִיר׃
10 Kings' daughters are among thy favourites; At thy right hand doth stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
11 שִׁמְעִי־בַת וּרְאִי וְהַטִּי אָזְנֵךְ וְשִׁכְחִי עַמֵּךְ וּבֵית אָבִיךְ׃
11 'Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; Forget also thine own people, and thy father's house;
12 וְיִתְאָו הַמֶּלֶךְ יָפְיֵךְ כִּי־הוּא אֲדֹנַיִךְ וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִי־לוֹ׃
12 So shall the king desire thy beauty; For he is thy lord; and do homage unto him. .
13 וּבַת־צֹר בְּמִנְחָה פָּנַיִךְ יְחַלּוּ עֲשִׁירֵי עָם׃
13 And, O daughter of Tyre, the richest of the people Shall entreat thy favour with a gift.'
14 כָּל־כְּבוּדָּה בַת־מֶלֶךְ פְּנִימָה מִמִּשְׁבְּצוֹת זָהָב לְבוּשָׁהּ׃
14 All glorious is the king's daughter within the palace; Her raiment is of chequer work inwrought with gold.
15 לִרְקָמוֹת תּוּבַל לַמֶּלֶךְ בְּתוּלוֹת אַחֲרֶיהָ רֵעוֹתֶיהָ מוּבָאוֹת לָךְ׃
15 She shall be led unto the king on richly woven stuff; The virgins her companions in her train being brought unto thee.
16 תּוּבַלְנָה בִּשְׂמָחֹת וָגִיל תְּבֹאֶינָה בְּהֵיכַל מֶלֶךְ׃
16 They shall be led with gladness and rejoicing; They shall enter into the king's palace.
17 תַּחַת אֲבֹתֶיךָ יִהְיוּ בָנֶיךָ תְּשִׁיתֵמוֹ לְשָׂרִים בְּכָל־הָאָרֶץ׃
17 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy sons, Whom thou shalt make princes in all the land.
18 אַזְכִּירָה שִׁמְךָ בְּכָל־דֹּר וָדֹר עַל־כֵּן עַמִּים יְהוֹדֻךָ לְעֹלָם וָעֶד׃
18 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore shall the peoples praise thee for ever and ever.
Psalm 46 · תְּהִלִּים 46Open / close
1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח עַל־עֲלָמוֹת שִׁיר׃
1 For the Leader; [a Psalm] of the sons of Korah; upon Alamoth. A Song.
2 אֱלֹהִים לָנוּ מַחֲסֶה וָעֹז עֶזְרָה בְצָרוֹת נִמְצָא מְאֹד׃
2 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
3 עַל־כֵּן לֹא־נִירָא בְּהָמִיר אָרֶץ וּבְמוֹט הָרִים בְּלֵב יַמִּים׃
3 Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change, And though the mountains be moved into the heart of the seas;
4 יֶהֱמוּ יֶחְמְרוּ מֵימָיו יִרְעֲשׁוּ־הָרִים בְּגַאֲוָתוֹ סֶלָה׃
4 Though the waters thereof roar and foam, Though the mountains shake at the swelling thereof. Selah
5 נָהָר פְּלָגָיו יְשַׂמְּחוּ עִיר־אֱלֹהִים קְדֹשׁ מִשְׁכְּנֵי עֶלְיוֹן׃
5 There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God, The holiest dwelling-place of the Most High.
6 אֱלֹהִים בְּקִרְבָּהּ בַּל־תִּמּוֹט יַעְזְרֶהָ אֱלֹהִים לִפְנוֹת בֹּקֶר׃
6 God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, at the approach of morning.
7 הָמוּ גוֹיִם מָטוּ מַמְלָכוֹת נָתַן בְּקוֹלוֹ תָּמוּג אָרֶץ׃
7 Nations were in tumult, kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
8 יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת עִמָּנוּ מִשְׂגָּב־לָנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב סֶלָה׃
8 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our high tower. Selah
9 לְכוּ־חֲזוּ מִפְעֲלוֹת יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר־שָׂם שַׁמּוֹת בָּאָרֶץ׃
9 Come, behold the works of the LORD, Who hath made desolations in the earth.
10 מַשְׁבִּית מִלְחָמוֹת עַד־קְצֵה הָאָרֶץ קֶשֶׁת יְשַׁבֵּר וְקִצֵּץ חֲנִית עֲגָלוֹת יִשְׂרֹף בָּאֵשׁ׃
10 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariots in the fire.
11 הַרְפּוּ וּדְעוּ כִּי־אָנֹכִי אֱלֹהִים אָרוּם בַּגּוֹיִם אָרוּם בָּאָרֶץ׃
11 'Let be, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'
12 יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת עִמָּנוּ מִשְׂגָּב־לָנוּ אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב סֶלָה׃
12 The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our high tower. Selah
Psalm 47 · תְּהִלִּים 47Open / close
1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח מִזְמוֹר׃
1 For the Leader; a Psalm for the sons of Korah.
2 כָּל־הָעַמִּים תִּקְעוּ־כָף הָרִיעוּ לֵאלֹהִים בְּקוֹל רִנָּה׃
2 O clap your hands, all ye peoples; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. .
3 כִּי־יְהוָה עֶלְיוֹן נוֹרָא מֶלֶךְ גָּדוֹל עַל־כָּל־הָאָרֶץ׃
3 For the LORD is most high, awful; a great King over all the earth.
4 יַדְבֵּר עַמִּים תַּחְתֵּינוּ וּלְאֻמִּים תַּחַת רַגְלֵינוּ׃
4 He subdueth peoples under us, and nations under our feet.
5 יִבְחַר־לָנוּ אֶת־נַחֲלָתֵנוּ אֶת גְּאוֹן יַעֲקֹב אֲשֶׁר־אָהֵב סֶלָה׃
5 He chooseth our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob whom He loveth. Selah
6 עָלָה אֱלֹהִים בִּתְרוּעָה יְהֹוָה בְּקוֹל שׁוֹפָר׃
6 God is gone up amidst shouting, the LORD amidst the sound of the horn.
7 זַמְּרוּ אֱלֹהִים זַמֵּרוּ זַמְּרוּ לְמַלְכֵּנוּ זַמֵּרוּ׃
7 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
8 כִּי מֶלֶךְ כָּל־הָאָרֶץ אֱלֹהִים זַמְּרוּ מַשְׂכִּיל׃
8 For God is the King of all the earth; sing ye praises in a skilful song.
9 מָלַךְ אֱלֹהִים עַל־גּוֹיִם אֱלֹהִים יָשַׁב עַל־כִּסֵּא קָדְשׁוֹ׃
9 God reigneth over the nations; God sitteth upon His holy throne.
10 נְדִיבֵי עַמִּים נֶאֱסָפוּ עַם אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם כִּי לֵאלֹהִים מָגִנֵּי־אֶרֶץ מְאֹד נַעֲלָה׃
10 The princes of the peoples are gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham; for unto God belong the shields of the earth; He is greatly exalted.
Psalm 48 · תְּהִלִּים 48Open / close
1 שִׁיר מִזְמוֹר לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח׃
1 A Song; a Psalm of the sons of Korah.
2 גָּדוֹל יְהוָה וּמְהֻלָּל מְאֹד בְּעִיר אֱלֹהֵינוּ הַר־קָדְשׁוֹ׃
2 Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, In the city of our God, His holy mountain,
3 יְפֵה נוֹף מְשׂוֹשׂ כָּל־הָאָרֶץ הַר־צִיּוֹן יַרְכְּתֵי צָפוֹן קִרְיַת מֶלֶךְ רָב׃
3 Fair in situation, the joy of the whole earth; Even mount Zion, the uttermost parts of the north, The city of the great King.
4 אֱלֹהִים בְּאַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָ נוֹדַע לְמִשְׂגָּב׃
4 God in her palaces Hath made Himself known for a stronghold.
5 כִּי־הִנֵּה הַמְּלָכִים נוֹעֲדוּ עָבְרוּ יַחְדָּו׃
5 For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, They came onward together.
6 הֵמָּה רָאוּ כֵּן תָּמָהוּ נִבְהֲלוּ נֶחְפָּזוּ׃
6 They saw, straightway they were amazed; They were affrighted, they hasted away.
7 רְעָדָה אֲחָזָתַם שָׁם חִיל כַּיּוֹלֵדָה׃
7 Trembling took hold of them there, Pangs, as of a woman in travail.
8 בְּרוּחַ קָדִים תְּשַׁבֵּר אֳנִיּוֹת תַּרְשִׁישׁ׃
8 With the east wind Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish.
9 כַּאֲשֶׁר שָׁמַעְנוּ כֵּן רָאִינוּ בְּעִיר־יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת בְּעִיר אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֱלֹהִים יְכוֹנְנֶהָ עַד־עוֹלָם סֶלָה׃
9 As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God— God establish it for ever. Selah
10 דִּמִּינוּ אֱלֹהִים חַסְדֶּךָ בְּקֶרֶב הֵיכָלֶךָ׃
10 We have thought on Thy lovingkindness, O God, In the midst of Thy temple.
11 כְּשִׁמְךָ אֱלֹהִים כֵּן תְּהִלָּתְךָ עַל־קַצְוֵי־אֶרֶץ צֶדֶק מָלְאָה יְמִינֶךָ׃
11 As is Thy name, O God, So is Thy praise unto the ends of the earth; Thy right hand is full of righteousness.
12 יִשְׂמַח הַר־צִיּוֹן תָּגֵלְנָה בְּנוֹת יְהוּדָה לְמַעַן מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ׃
12 Let mount Zion be glad, Let the daughters of Judah rejoice, Because of Thy judgments.
13 סֹבּוּ צִיּוֹן וְהַקִּיפוּהָ סִפְרוּ מִגְדָּלֶיהָ׃
13 Walk about Zion, and go round about her; Count the towers thereof.
14 שִׁיתוּ לִבְּכֶם לְחֵילָה פַּסְּגוּ אַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָ לְמַעַן תְּסַפְּרוּ לְדוֹר אַחֲרוֹן׃
14 Mark ye well her ramparts, Traverse her palaces; That ye may tell it to the generation following. .
15 כִּי זֶה אֱלֹהִים אֱלֹהֵינוּ עוֹלָם וָעֶד הוּא יְנַהֲגֵנוּ עַל־מוּת׃
15 For such is God, our God, for ever and ever; He will guide us eternally.
