1 הַלְלוּ יָהּ הַלְלוּ אֶת־שֵׁם יְהוָה הַלְלוּ עַבְדֵי יְהוָה׃
1 Hallelujah. Praise ye the name of the LORD; Give praise, O ye servants of the LORD,
2 שֶׁעֹמְדִים בְּבֵית יְהוָה בְּחַצְרוֹת בֵּית אֱלֹהֵינוּ׃
2 Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, In the courts of the house of our God.
3 הַלְלוּ־יָהּ כִּי־טוֹב יְהוָה זַמְּרוּ לִשְׁמוֹ כִּי נָעִים׃
3 Praise ye the LORD, for the LORD is good; Sing praises unto His name, for it is pleasant.
4 כִּי־יַעֲקֹב בָּחַר לוֹ יָהּ יִשְׂרָאֵל לִסְגֻלָּתוֹ׃
4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto Himself, And Israel for His own treasure.
5 כִּי אֲנִי יָדַעְתִּי כִּי־גָדוֹל יְהוָה וַאֲדֹנֵינוּ מִכָּל־אֱלֹהִים׃
5 For I know that the LORD is great, And that our Lord is above all gods.
6 כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־חָפֵץ יְהוָה עָשָׂה בַּשָּׁמַיִם וּבָאָרֶץ בַּיַּמִּים וְכָל־תְּהוֹמוֹת׃
6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that hath He done, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps;
7 מַעֲלֶה נְשִׂאִים מִקְצֵה הָאָרֶץ בְּרָקִים לַמָּטָר עָשָׂה מוֹצֵא־רוּחַ מֵאוֹצְרוֹתָיו׃
7 Who causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He maketh lightnings for the rain; He bringeth forth the wind out of His treasuries.
8 שֶׁהִכָּה בְּכוֹרֵי מִצְרָיִם מֵאָדָם עַד־בְּהֵמָה׃
8 Who smote the first-born of Egypt, Both of man and beast.
9 שָׁלַח אֹתוֹת וּמֹפְתִים בְּתוֹכֵכִי מִצְרָיִם בְּפַרְעֹה וּבְכָל־עֲבָדָיו׃
9 He sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, Upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
10 שֶׁהִכָּה גּוֹיִם רַבִּים וְהָרַג מְלָכִים עֲצוּמִים׃
10 Who smote many nations, And slew mighty kings:
11 לְסִיחוֹן מֶלֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִי וּלְעוֹג מֶלֶךְ הַבָּשָׁן וּלְכֹל מַמְלְכוֹת כְּנָעַן׃
11 Sihon king of the Amorites, And Og king of Bashan, And all the kingdoms of Canaan;
12 וְנָתַן אַרְצָם נַחֲלָה נַחֲלָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל עַמּוֹ׃
12 And gave their land for a heritage, A heritage unto Israel His people.
13 יְהוָה שִׁמְךָ לְעוֹלָם יְהוָה זִכְרְךָ לְדֹר־וָדֹר׃
13 O LORD, Thy name endureth for ever; Thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.
14 כִּי־יָדִין יְהוָה עַמּוֹ וְעַל־עֲבָדָיו יִתְנֶחָם׃
14 For the LORD will judge His people, And repent Himself for His servants.
15 עֲצַבֵּי הַגּוֹיִם כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב מַעֲשֵׂה יְדֵי אָדָם׃
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, The work of men's hands.
16 פֶּה־לָהֶם וְלֹא יְדַבֵּרוּ עֵינַיִם לָהֶם וְלֹא יִרְאוּ׃
16 They have mouths, but they speak not; Eyes have they, but they see not;
17 אָזְנַיִם לָהֶם וְלֹא יַאֲזִינוּ אַף אֵין־יֶשׁ־רוּחַ בְּפִיהֶם׃
17 They have ears, but they hear not; Neither is there any breath in their mouths.
18 כְּמוֹהֶם יִהְיוּ עֹשֵׂיהֶם כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־בֹּטֵחַ בָּהֶם׃
18 They that make them shall be like unto them; Yea, every one that trusteth in them.
19 בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּרֲכוּ אֶת־יְהוָה בֵּית אַהֲרֹן בָּרֲכוּ אֶת־יְהוָה׃
19 O house of Israel, bless ye the LORD; O house of Aaron, bless ye the LORD;
20 בֵּית הַלֵּוִי בָּרֲכוּ אֶת־יְהוָה יִרְאֵי יְהוָה בָּרֲכוּ אֶת־יְהוָה׃
20 O house of Levi, bless ye the LORD; Ye that fear the LORD, bless ye the LORD.
21 בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה מִצִּיּוֹן שֹׁכֵן יְרוּשָׁלִָם הַלְלוּ־יָהּ׃
21 Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, Who dwelleth at Jerusalem. Hallelujah.

1 הוֹדוּ לַיהוָה כִּי־טוֹב כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, For His mercy endureth for ever. .
2 הוֹדוּ לֵאלֹהֵי הָאֱלֹהִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
2 O give thanks unto the God of gods, For His mercy endureth for ever.
3 הוֹדוּ לַאֲדֹנֵי הָאֲדֹנִים כִּי לְעֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
3 O give thanks unto the Lord of lords, For His mercy endureth for ever.
4 לְעֹשֵׂה נִפְלָאוֹת גְּדֹלוֹת לְבַדּוֹ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
4 To Him who alone doeth great wonders, For His mercy endureth for ever.
5 לְעֹשֵׂה הַשָּׁמַיִם בִּתְבוּנָה כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
5 To Him that by understanding made the heavens, for His mercy endureth for ever.
6 לְרֹקַע הָאָרֶץ עַל־הַמָּיִם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
6 To Him that spread forth the earth above the waters, For His mercy endureth for ever.
7 לְעֹשֵׂה אוֹרִים גְּדֹלִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
7 To Him that made great lights, For His mercy endureth for ever;
8 אֶת־הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ לְמֶמְשֶׁלֶת בַּיּוֹם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
8 The sun to rule by day, For His mercy endureth for ever;
9 אֶת־הַיָּרֵחַ וְכוֹכָבִים לְמֶמְשְׁלוֹת בַּלָּיְלָה כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
9 The moon and stars to rule by night, For His mercy endureth for ever.
10 לְמַכֵּה מִצְרַיִם בִּבְכוֹרֵיהֶם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
10 To Him that smote Egypt in their first-born, For His mercy endureth for ever;
11 וַיּוֹצֵא יִשְׂרָאֵל מִתּוֹכָם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
11 And brought out Israel from among them, For His mercy endureth for ever;
12 בְּיָד חֲזָקָה וּבִזְרוֹעַ נְטוּיָה כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
12 With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, For His mercy endureth for ever.
13 לְגֹזֵר יַם־סוּף לִגְזָרִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
13 To Him who divided the Red Sea in sunder, For His mercy endureth for ever;
14 וְהֶעֱבִיר יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּתוֹכוֹ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
14 And made Israel to pass through the midst of it, For His mercy endureth for ever;
15 וְנִעֵר פַּרְעֹה וְחֵילוֹ בְיַם־סוּף כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea, For His mercy endureth for ever.
16 לְמוֹלִיךְ עַמּוֹ בַּמִּדְבָּר כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
16 To Him that led His people through the wilderness, For His mercy endureth for ever.
17 לְמַכֵּה מְלָכִים גְּדֹלִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
17 To Him that smote great kings; For His mercy endureth for ever;
18 וַיַּהֲרֹג מְלָכִים אַדִּירִים כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
18 And slew mighty kings, For His mercy endureth for ever.
19 לְסִיחוֹן מֶלֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִי כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
19 Sihon king of the Amorites, For His mercy endureth for ever;
20 וּלְעוֹג מֶלֶךְ הַבָּשָׁן כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
20 And Og king of Bashan, For His mercy endureth for ever;
21 וְנָתַן אַרְצָם לְנַחֲלָה כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
21 And gave their land for a heritage, For His mercy endureth for ever;
22 נַחֲלָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל עַבְדּוֹ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
22 Even a heritage unto Israel His servant, For His mercy endureth for ever.
23 שֶׁבְּשִׁפְלֵנוּ זָכַר לָנוּ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
23 Who remembered us in our low estate, For His mercy endureth for ever;
24 וַיִּפְרְקֵנוּ מִצָּרֵינוּ כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
24 And hath delivered us from our adversaries, For His mercy endureth for ever.
25 נֹתֵן לֶחֶם לְכָל־בָּשָׂר כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
25 Who giveth food to all flesh, For His mercy endureth for ever.
26 הוֹדוּ לְאֵל הַשָּׁמָיִם כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּוֹ׃
26 O give thanks unto the God of heaven, For His mercy endureth for ever.
Psalm 137 · תְּהִלִּים 137Open / close
1 עַל נַהֲרוֹת בָּבֶל שָׁם יָשַׁבְנוּ גַּם־בָּכִינוּ בְּזָכְרֵנוּ אֶת־צִיּוֹן׃
1 By the rivers of Babylon, There we sat down, yea, we wept, When we remembered Zion.
2 עַל־עֲרָבִים בְּתוֹכָהּ תָּלִינוּ כִּנֹּרוֹתֵינוּ׃
2 Upon the willows in the midst thereof We hanged up our harps.
3 כִּי שָׁם שְׁאֵלוּנוּ שׁוֹבֵינוּ דִּבְרֵי־שִׁיר וְתוֹלָלֵינוּ שִׂמְחָה שִׁירוּ לָנוּ מִשִּׁיר צִיּוֹן׃
3 For there they that led us captive asked of us words of song, And our tormentors asked of us mirth: ‘Sing us one of the songs of Zion.'
4 אֵיךְ נָשִׁיר אֶת־שִׁיר־יְהוָה עַל אַדְמַת נֵכָר׃
4 How shall we sing the LORD’S song In a foreign land?
5 אִם־אֶשְׁכָּחֵךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָם תִּשְׁכַּח יְמִינִי׃
5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget her cunning.
6 תִּדְבַּק־לְשׁוֹנִי לְחִכִּי אִם־לֹא אֶזְכְּרֵכִי אִם־לֹא אַעֲלֶה אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלִַם עַל רֹאשׁ שִׂמְחָתִי׃
6 Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, If I remember thee not; If I set not Jerusalem Above my chiefest joy.
7 זְכֹר יְהוָה לִבְנֵי אֱדוֹם אֵת יוֹם יְרוּשָׁלִָם הָאֹמְרִים עָרוּ עָרוּ עַד הַיְסוֹד בָּהּ׃
7 Remember, O LORD, against the children of Edom The day of Jerusalem; Who said: 'Rase it, rase it, Even to the foundation thereof.'
8 בַּת־בָּבֶל הַשְּׁדוּדָה אַשְׁרֵי שֶׁיְשַׁלֶּם־לָךְ אֶת־גְּמוּלֵךְ שֶׁגָּמַלְתְּ לָנוּ׃
8 O daughter of Babylon, that art to be destroyed; Happy shall he be, that repayeth thee As thou hast served us.
9 אַשְׁרֵי שֶׁיֹּאחֵז וְנִפֵּץ אֶת־עֹלָלַיִךְ אֶל־הַסָּלַע׃
9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones Against the rock.
Psalm 138 · תְּהִלִּים 138Open / close
1 לְדָוִד אוֹדְךָ בְכָל־לִבִּי נֶגֶד אֱלֹהִים אֲזַמְּרֶךָּ׃
1 [A Psalm] of David. I will give Thee thanks with my whole heart, In the presence of the mighty will I sing praises unto Thee.
2 אֶשְׁתַּחֲוֶה אֶל־הֵיכַל קָדְשְׁךָ וְאוֹדֶה אֶת־שְׁמֶךָ עַל־חַסְדְּךָ וְעַל־אֲמִתֶּךָ כִּי־הִגְדַּלְתָּ עַל־כָּל־שִׁמְךָ אִמְרָתֶךָ׃
2 I will bow down toward Thy holy temple, And give thanks unto Thy name for Thy mercy and for Thy truth; For Thou hast magnified Thy word above all Thy name.
3 בְּיוֹם קָרָאתִי וַתַּעֲנֵנִי תַּרְהִבֵנִי בְנַפְשִׁי עֹז׃
3 In the day that I called, Thou didst answer me; Thou didst encourage me in my soul with strength.
4 יוֹדוּךָ יְהוָה כָּל־מַלְכֵי־אָרֶץ כִּי שָׁמְעוּ אִמְרֵי־פִיךָ׃
4 All the kings of the earth shall give Thee thanks, O LORD, For they have heard the words of Thy mouth.
5 וְיָשִׁירוּ בְּדַרְכֵי יְהוָה כִּי גָדוֹל כְּבוֹד יְהוָה׃
5 Yea, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD; For great is the glory of the LORD.
6 כִּי־רָם יְהוָה וְשָׁפָל יִרְאֶה וְגָבֹהַּ מִמֶּרְחָק יְיֵדָע׃
6 For though the LORD be high, yet regardeth He the lowly, And the haughty He knoweth from afar.
7 אִם־אֵלֵךְ בְּקֶרֶב צָרָה תְּחַיֵּנִי עַל אַף אֹיְבַי תִּשְׁלַח יָדֶךָ וְתוֹשִׁיעֵנִי יְמִינֶךָ׃
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, Thou quickenest me; Thou stretchest forth Thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies, And Thy right hand doth save me.
8 יְהוָה יִגְמֹר בַּעֲדִי יְהוָה חַסְדְּךָ לְעוֹלָם מַעֲשֵׂי יָדֶיךָ אַל־תֶּרֶף׃
8 The LORD will accomplish that which concerneth me; Thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever; Forsake not the work of Thine own hands.

1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ לְדָוִד מִזְמוֹר יְהוָה חֲקַרְתַּנִי וַתֵּדָע׃
1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David. O LORD, Thou hast searched me, and known me. .
2 אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ שִׁבְתִּי וְקוּמִי בַּנְתָּה לְרֵעִי מֵרָחוֹק׃
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, Thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 אָרְחִי וְרִבְעִי זֵרִיתָ וְכָל־דְּרָכַי הִסְכַּנְתָּה׃
3 Thou measurest my going about and my lying down, And art acquainted with all my ways.
4 כִּי אֵין מִלָּה בִּלְשׁוֹנִי הֵן יְהוָה יָדַעְתָּ כֻלָּהּ׃
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, But, lo, O LORD, Thou knowest it altogether.
5 אָחוֹר וָקֶדֶם צַרְתָּנִי וַתָּשֶׁת עָלַי כַּפֶּכָה׃
5 Thou hast hemmed me in behind and before, And laid Thy hand upon me.
6 פלאיה [פְּלִיאָה] דַעַת מִמֶּנִּי נִשְׂגְּבָה לֹא־אוּכַל לָהּ׃
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; Too high, I cannot attain unto it.
7 אָנָה אֵלֵךְ מֵרוּחֶךָ וְאָנָה מִפָּנֶיךָ אֶבְרָח׃
7 Whither shall I go from Thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from Thy presence?
8 אִם־אֶסַּק שָׁמַיִם שָׁם אָתָּה וְאַצִּיעָה שְּׁאוֹל הִנֶּךָּ׃
8 If I ascend up into heaven, Thou art there; If I make my bed in the nether-world, behold, Thou art there.
9 אֶשָּׂא כַנְפֵי־שָׁחַר אֶשְׁכְּנָה בְּאַחֲרִית יָם׃
9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 גַּם־שָׁם יָדְךָ תַנְחֵנִי וְתֹאחֲזֵנִי יְמִינֶךָ׃
10 Even there would Thy hand lead me, And Thy right hand would hold me.
11 וָאֹמַר אַךְ־חֹשֶׁךְ יְשׁוּפֵנִי וְלַיְלָה אוֹר בַּעֲדֵנִי׃
11 And if I say: ‘Surely the darkness shall envelop me, And the light about me shall be night';
12 גַּם־חֹשֶׁךְ לֹא־יַחְשִׁיךְ מִמֶּךָ וְלַיְלָה כַּיּוֹם יָאִיר כַּחֲשֵׁיכָה כָּאוֹרָה׃
12 Even the darkness is not too dark for Thee, But the night shineth as the day; The darkness is even as the light.
13 כִּי־אַתָּה קָנִיתָ כִלְיֹתָי תְּסֻכֵּנִי בְּבֶטֶן אִמִּי׃
13 For Thou hast made my reins; Thou hast knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 אוֹדְךָ עַל כִּי נוֹרָאוֹת נִפְלֵיתִי נִפְלָאִים מַעֲשֶׂיךָ וְנַפְשִׁי יֹדַעַת מְאֹד׃
14 I will give thanks unto Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 לֹא־נִכְחַד עָצְמִי מִמֶּךָּ אֲשֶׁר־עֻשֵּׂיתִי בַסֵּתֶר רֻקַּמְתִּי בְּתַחְתִּיּוֹת אָרֶץ׃
15 My frame was not hidden from Thee, When I was made in secret, And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 גָּלְמִי רָאוּ עֵינֶיךָ וְעַל־סִפְרְךָ כֻּלָּם יִכָּתֵבוּ יָמִים יֻצָּרוּ ולא [וְלוֹ] אֶחָד בָּהֶם׃
16 Thine eyes did see mine unformed substance, And in Thy book they were all written— Even the days that were fashioned, When as yet there was none of them.
17 וְלִי מַה־יָּקְרוּ רֵעֶיךָ אֵל מֶה עָצְמוּ רָאשֵׁיהֶם׃
17 How weighty also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!
18 אֶסְפְּרֵם מֵחוֹל יִרְבּוּן הֱקִיצֹתִי וְעוֹדִי עִמָּךְ׃
18 If I would count them, they are more in number than the sand; Were I to come to the end of them, I would still be with Thee.
19 אִם־תִּקְטֹל אֱלוֹהַּ רָשָׁע וְאַנְשֵׁי דָמִים סוּרוּ מֶנִּי׃
19 If Thou but wouldest slay the wicked, O God— Depart from me therefore, ye men of blood;
20 אֲשֶׁר יֹאמְרֻךָ לִמְזִמָּה נָשֻׂא לַשָּׁוְא עָרֶיךָ׃
20 Who utter Thy name with wicked thought, They take it for falsehood, even Thine enemies— .
21 הֲלוֹא־מְשַׂנְאֶיךָ יְהוָה אֶשְׂנָא וּבִתְקוֹמְמֶיךָ אֶתְקוֹטָט׃
21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate Thee? And do not I strive with those that rise up against Thee?
22 תַּכְלִית שִׂנְאָה שְׂנֵאתִים לְאוֹיְבִים הָיוּ לִי׃
22 I hate them with utmost hatred; I count them mine enemies.
23 חָקְרֵנִי אֵל וְדַע לְבָבִי בְּחָנֵנִי וְדַע שַׂרְעַפָּי׃
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart, Try me, and know my thoughts;
24 וּרְאֵה אִם־דֶּרֶךְ־עֹצֶב בִּי וּנְחֵנִי בְּדֶרֶךְ עוֹלָם׃
24 And see if there be any way in me that is grievous, And lead me in the way everlasting.
