1 לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד׃
1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David.
2 חַלְּצֵנִי יְהוָה מֵאָדָם רָע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי׃
2 Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man; Preserve me from the violent man;
3 אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ רָעוֹת בְּלֵב כָּל־יוֹם יָגוּרוּ מִלְחָמוֹת׃
3 Who devise evil things in their heart; Every day do they stir up wars.
4 שָׁנֲנוּ לְשׁוֹנָם כְּמוֹ־נָחָשׁ חֲמַת עַכְשׁוּב תַּחַת שְׂפָתֵימוֹ סֶלָה׃
4 They have sharpened their tongue like a serpent; Vipers' venom is under their lips. Selah
5 שָׁמְרֵנִי יְהוָה מִידֵי רָשָׁע מֵאִישׁ חֲמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ לִדְחוֹת פְּעָמָי׃
5 Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from the violent man; Who have purposed to make my steps slip.
6 טָמְנוּ־גֵאִים פַּח לִי וַחֲבָלִים פָּרְשׂוּ רֶשֶׁת לְיַד־מַעְגָּל מֹקְשִׁים שָׁתוּ־לִי סֶלָה׃
6 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set gins for me. Selah
7 אָמַרְתִּי לַיהוָה אֵלִי אָתָּה הַאֲזִינָה יְהוָה קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָי׃
7 I have said unto the LORD: 'Thou art my God'; Give ear, O LORD, unto the voice of my supplications.
8 יְהֹוִה אֲדֹנָי עֹז יְשׁוּעָתִי סַכֹּתָה לְרֹאשִׁי בְּיוֹם נָשֶׁק׃
8 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, Who hast screened my head in the day of battle,
9 אַל־תִּתֵּן יְהוָה מַאֲוַיֵּי רָשָׁע זְמָמוֹ אַל־תָּפֵק יָרוּמוּ סֶלָה׃
9 Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; Further not his evil device, so that they exalt themselves. Selah
10 רֹאשׁ מְסִבָּי עֲמַל שְׂפָתֵימוֹ יכסומו [יְכַסֵּמוֹ׃]
10 As for the head of those that compass me about, Let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
11 ימיטו [יִמּוֹטוּ] עֲלֵיהֶם גֶּחָלִים בָּאֵשׁ יַפִּלֵם בְּמַהֲמֹרוֹת בַּל־יָקוּמוּ׃
11 Let burning coals fall upon them; Let them be cast into the fire, Into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
12 אִישׁ לָשׁוֹן בַּל־יִכּוֹן בָּאָרֶץ אִישׁ־חָמָס רָע יְצוּדֶנּוּ לְמַדְחֵפֹת׃
12 A slanderer shall not be established in the earth; The violent and evil man shall be hunted with thrust upon thrust.
13 ידעת [יָדַעְתִּי] כִּי־יַעֲשֶׂה יְהוָה דִּין עָנִי מִשְׁפַּט אֶבְיֹנִים׃
13 I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the poor, And the right of the needy.
14 אַךְ צַדִּיקִים יוֹדוּ לִשְׁמֶךָ יֵשְׁבוּ יְשָׁרִים אֶת־פָּנֶיךָ׃
14 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto Thy name; The upright shall dwell in Thy presence.
Psalm 141 · תְּהִלִּים 141Open / close
1 מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְהוָה קְרָאתִיךָ חוּשָׁה לִּי הַאֲזִינָה קוֹלִי בְּקָרְאִי־לָךְ׃
1 A Psalm of David. LORD, I have called Thee; make haste unto me; Give ear unto my voice, when I call unto Thee.
2 תִּכּוֹן תְּפִלָּתִי קְטֹרֶת לְפָנֶיךָ מַשְׂאַת כַּפַּי מִנְחַת־עָרֶב׃
2 Let my prayer be set forth as incense before Thee, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
3 שִׁיתָה יְהוָה שָׁמְרָה לְפִי נִצְּרָה עַל־דַּל שְׂפָתָי׃
3 Set a guard, O LORD, to my mouth; Keep watch at the door of my lips.
4 אַל־תַּט־לִבִּי לְדָבָר רָע לְהִתְעוֹלֵל עֲלִלוֹת בְּרֶשַׁע אֶת־אִישִׁים פֹּעֲלֵי־אָוֶן וּבַל־אֶלְחַם בְּמַנְעַמֵּיהֶם׃
4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, To be occupied in deeds of wickedness With men that work iniquity; And let me not eat of their dainties.
5 יֶהֶלְמֵנִי־צַדִּיק חֶסֶד וְיוֹכִיחֵנִי שֶׁמֶן רֹאשׁ אַל־יָנִי רֹאשִׁי כִּי־עוֹד וּתְפִלָּתִי בְּרָעוֹתֵיהֶם׃
5 Let the righteous smite me in kindness, and correct me; Oil so choice let not my head refuse; For still is my prayer because of their wickedness.
6 נִשְׁמְטוּ בִידֵי־סֶלַע שֹׁפְטֵיהֶם וְשָׁמְעוּ אֲמָרַי כִּי נָעֵמוּ׃
6 Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock; And they shall hear my words, that they are sweet.
7 כְּמוֹ פֹלֵחַ וּבֹקֵעַ בָּאָרֶץ נִפְזְרוּ עֲצָמֵינוּ לְפִי שְׁאוֹל׃
7 As when one cleaveth and breaketh up the earth, Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth.
8 כִּי אֵלֶיךָ יְהֹוִה אֲדֹנָי עֵינָי בְּכָה חָסִיתִי אַל־תְּעַר נַפְשִׁי׃
8 For mine eyes are unto Thee, O GOD the Lord; In Thee have I taken refuge, O pour not out my soul.
9 שָׁמְרֵנִי מִידֵי פַח יָקְשׁוּ לִי וּמֹקְשׁוֹת פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן׃
9 Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, And from the gins of the workers of iniquity.
10 יִפְּלוּ בְמַכְמֹרָיו רְשָׁעִים יַחַד אָנֹכִי עַד־אֶעֱבוֹר׃
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, Whilst I withal escape.
Psalm 142 · תְּהִלִּים 142Open / close
1 מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִד בִּהְיוֹתוֹ בַמְּעָרָה תְפִלָּה׃
1 Maschil of David, when he was in the cave; a Prayer.
2 קוֹלִי אֶל־יְהוָה אֶזְעָק קוֹלִי אֶל־יְהוָה אֶתְחַנָּן׃
2 With my voice I cry unto the LORD; With my voice I make supplication unto the LORD.
3 אֶשְׁפֹּךְ לְפָנָיו שִׂיחִי צָרָתִי לְפָנָיו אַגִּיד׃
3 I pour out my complaint before Him, I declare before Him my trouble;
4 בְּהִתְעַטֵּף עָלַי רוּחִי וְאַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ נְתִיבָתִי בְּאֹרַח־זוּ אֲהַלֵּךְ טָמְנוּ פַח לִי׃
4 When my spirit fainteth within me— Thou knowest my path— In the way wherein I walk Have they hidden a snare for me.
5 הַבֵּיט יָמִין וּרְאֵה וְאֵין־לִי מַכִּיר אָבַד מָנוֹס מִמֶּנִּי אֵין דּוֹרֵשׁ לְנַפְשִׁי׃
5 Look on my right hand, and see, For there is no man that knoweth me; I have no way to flee; No man careth for my soul.
6 זָעַקְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ יְהוָה אָמַרְתִּי אַתָּה מַחְסִי חֶלְקִי בְּאֶרֶץ הַחַיִּים׃
6 I have cried unto Thee, O LORD; I have said: 'Thou art my refuge, My portion in the land of the living.'
7 הַקְשִׁיבָה אֶל־רִנָּתִי כִּי־דַלּוֹתִי מְאֹד הַצִּילֵנִי מֵרֹדְפַי כִּי אָמְצוּ מִמֶּנִּי׃
7 Attend unto my cry; For I am brought very low; Deliver me from my persecutors; For they are too strong for me.
8 הוֹצִיאָה מִמַּסְגֵּר נַפְשִׁי לְהוֹדוֹת אֶת־שְׁמֶךָ בִּי יַכְתִּרוּ צַדִּיקִים כִּי תִגְמֹל עָלָי׃
8 Bring my soul out of prison, That I may give thanks unto Thy name; The righteous shall crown themselves because of me; For Thou wilt deal bountifully with me.
Psalm 143 · תְּהִלִּים 143Open / close
1 מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד יְהוָה שְׁמַע תְּפִלָּתִי הַאֲזִינָה אֶל־תַּחֲנוּנַי בֶּאֱמֻנָתְךָ עֲנֵנִי בְּצִדְקָתֶךָ׃
1 A Psalm of David. O LORD, hear my prayer, give ear to my supplications; In Thy faithfulness answer me, and in Thy righteousness.
2 וְאַל־תָּבוֹא בְמִשְׁפָּט אֶת־עַבְדֶּךָ כִּי לֹא־יִצְדַּק לְפָנֶיךָ כָל־חָי׃
2 And enter not into judgment with Thy servant; For in Thy sight shall no man living be justified.
3 כִּי רָדַף אוֹיֵב נַפְשִׁי דִּכָּא לָאָרֶץ חַיָּתִי הוֹשִׁיבַנִי בְמַחֲשַׁכִּים כְּמֵתֵי עוֹלָם׃
3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; He hath crushed my life down to the ground; He hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
4 וַתִּתְעַטֵּף עָלַי רוּחִי בְּתוֹכִי יִשְׁתּוֹמֵם לִבִּי׃
4 And my spirit fainteth within me; My heart within me is appalled.
5 זָכַרְתִּי יָמִים מִקֶּדֶם הָגִיתִי בְכָל־פָּעֳלֶךָ בְּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֶיךָ אֲשׂוֹחֵחַ׃
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Thy doing; I muse on the work of Thy hands.
6 פֵּרַשְׂתִּי יָדַי אֵלֶיךָ נַפְשִׁי כְּאֶרֶץ־עֲיֵפָה לְךָ סֶלָה׃
6 I spread forth my hands unto Thee; My soul [thirsteth] after Thee, as a weary land. Selah
7 מַהֵר עֲנֵנִי יְהוָה כָּלְתָה רוּחִי אַל־תַּסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ מִמֶּנִּי וְנִמְשַׁלְתִּי עִם־יֹרְדֵי בוֹר׃
7 Answer me speedily, O LORD, My spirit faileth; Hide not Thy face from me; Lest I become like them that go down into the pit.
8 הַשְׁמִיעֵנִי בַבֹּקֶר חַסְדֶּךָ כִּי־בְךָ בָטָחְתִּי הוֹדִיעֵנִי דֶּרֶךְ־זוּ אֵלֵךְ כִּי־אֵלֶיךָ נָשָׂאתִי נַפְשִׁי׃
8 Cause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning, For in Thee do I trust; Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, For unto Thee have I lifted up my soul.
9 הַצִּילֵנִי מֵאֹיְבַי יְהוָה אֵלֶיךָ כִסִּתִי׃
9 Deliver me from mine enemies, O LORD; With Thee have I hidden myself.
10 לַמְּדֵנִי לַעֲשׂוֹת רְצוֹנֶךָ כִּי־אַתָּה אֱלוֹהָי רוּחֲךָ טוֹבָה תַּנְחֵנִי בְּאֶרֶץ מִישׁוֹר׃
10 Teach me to do Thy will, For Thou art my God; Let Thy good spirit Lead me in an even land.
11 לְמַעַן־שִׁמְךָ יְהוָה תְּחַיֵּנִי בְּצִדְקָתְךָ תוֹצִיא מִצָּרָה נַפְשִׁי׃
11 For Thy name's sake, O LORD, quicken me; In Thy righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.
12 וּבְחַסְדְּךָ תַּצְמִית אֹיְבָי וְהַאֲבַדְתָּ כָּל־צֹרֲרֵי נַפְשִׁי כִּי אֲנִי עַבְדֶּךָ׃
12 And in Thy mercy cut off mine enemies, And destroy all them that harass my soul; For I am Thy servant.
Psalm 144 · תְּהִלִּים 144Open / close
1 לְדָוִד בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה צוּרִי הַמְלַמֵּד יָדַי לַקְרָב אֶצְבְּעוֹתַי לַמִּלְחָמָה׃
1 [A Psalm] of David. Blessed be the LORD my Rock, Who traineth my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;
2 חַסְדִּי וּמְצוּדָתִי מִשְׂגַּבִּי וּמְפַלְטִי לִי מָגִנִּי וּבוֹ חָסִיתִי הָרוֹדֵד עַמִּי תַחְתָּי׃
2 My lovingkindness, and my fortress, My high tower, and my deliverer; My shield, and He in whom I take refuge; Who subdueth my people under me.
3 יְהוָה מָה־אָדָם וַתֵּדָעֵהוּ בֶּן־אֱנוֹשׁ וַתְּחַשְּׁבֵהוּ׃
3 LORD, what is man, that Thou takest knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that Thou makest account of him?
4 אָדָם לַהֶבֶל דָּמָה יָמָיו כְּצֵל עוֹבֵר׃
4 Man is like unto a breath; His days are as a shadow that passeth away.
5 יְהוָה הַט־שָׁמֶיךָ וְתֵרֵד גַּע בֶּהָרִים וְיֶעֱשָׁנוּ׃
5 O LORD, bow Thy heavens, and come down; Touch the mountains, that they may smoke.
6 בְּרוֹק בָּרָק וּתְפִיצֵם שְׁלַח חִצֶּיךָ וּתְהֻמֵּם׃
6 Cast forth lightning, and scatter them; Send out Thine arrows, and discomfit them.
7 שְׁלַח יָדֶיךָ מִמָּרוֹם פְּצֵנִי וְהַצִּילֵנִי מִמַּיִם רַבִּים מִיַּד בְּנֵי נֵכָר׃
7 Stretch forth Thy hands from on high; Rescue me, and deliver me out of many waters, Out of the hand of strangers;
8 אֲשֶׁר פִּיהֶם דִּבֶּר־שָׁוְא וִימִינָם יְמִין שָׁקֶר׃
8 Whose mouth speaketh falsehood, And their right hand is a right hand of lying.
9 אֱלֹהִים שִׁיר חָדָשׁ אָשִׁירָה לָּךְ בְּנֵבֶל עָשׂוֹר אֲזַמְּרָה־לָּךְ׃
9 O God, I will sing a new song unto Thee, Upon a psaltery of ten strings will I sing praises unto Thee;
10 הַנּוֹתֵן תְּשׁוּעָה לַמְּלָכִים הַפּוֹצֶה אֶת־דָּוִד עַבְדּוֹ מֵחֶרֶב רָעָה׃
10 Who givest salvation unto kings, Who rescuest David Thy servant from the hurtful sword.
11 פְּצֵנִי וְהַצִּילֵנִי מִיַּד בְּנֵי־נֵכָר אֲשֶׁר פִּיהֶם דִּבֶּר־שָׁוְא וִימִינָם יְמִין שָׁקֶר׃
11 Rescue me, and deliver me out of the hand of strangers, Whose mouth speaketh falsehood, And their right hand is a right hand of lying.
12 אֲשֶׁר בָּנֵינוּ כִּנְטִעִים מְגֻדָּלִים בִּנְעוּרֵיהֶם בְּנוֹתֵינוּ כְזָוִיֹּת מְחֻטָּבוֹת תַּבְנִית הֵיכָל׃
12 We whose sons are as plants grown up in their youth; Whose daughters are as corner-pillars carved after the fashion of a palace;
13 מְזָוֵינוּ מְלֵאִים מְפִיקִים מִזַּן אֶל־זַן צֹאונֵנוּ מַאֲלִיפוֹת מְרֻבָּבוֹת בְּחוּצוֹתֵינוּ׃
13 Whose garners are full, affording all manner of store; Whose sheep increase by thousands and ten thousands in our fields;
14 אַלּוּפֵינוּ מְסֻבָּלִים אֵין־פֶּרֶץ וְאֵין יוֹצֵאת וְאֵין צְוָחָה בִּרְחֹבֹתֵינוּ׃
14 Whose oxen are well laden; With no breach, and no going forth, And no outcry in our broad places;
15 אַשְׁרֵי הָעָם שֶׁכָּכָה לּוֹ אַשְׁרֵי הָעָם שֶׁיֲהוָה אֱלֹהָיו׃
15 Happy is the people that is in such a case. Yea, happy is the people whose God is the LORD.
